Stormy Wednesday

I've had a few days away from the piano but got back to it today:

20 Minutes Sight Reading & Bergonzi On The Brink all permutations @ 66bpm

20 Minutes Running through each of the three Grade 4 pieces. I've neglected Footprints and Sssh a bit recently.

In other news I'm considering sitting a Performance Diploma exam for drumset (for fun!)

I had a look at the repertoire list and have ordered some music, work should hopefully pay the fee but if not I'll do it anyway. It will be nice to get my teeth into some new material and will hopefull give me a 'fun' medium term goal. I'm not expecting it to be that hard but maybe I'm kidding myself!

After another gruelling 2 hour gym session I sat down at the piano and identified my main short term goals. These are:

Complete Grade 4 Jazz Piano - 3 Pieces, Scales, Sight Reading etc etc
Delve deeper into improvistation using the Jerry Bergonzi material.

I need to make sure that my practice includes all of these areas in rotation rather than focusing on one or two things at the expense of others.

Piano:

20 Minutes Grades 1-4 scales/arpeggios

20 Minutes Beginning to See the Light

Drums:

20 Minutes: Benny Greb Dynamic Workout and Sticking Workout
